Security of funds

Clear about who provides what.

Alpine FX supports the client relationship. Payment and e-money services are provided by Currencycloud, an electronic money institution.

The provider relationship

Regulated payment infrastructure, explained properly.

In the UK, Alpine FX is an EMD Agent of The Currency Cloud Limited. The Currency Cloud Limited provides payment and e-money services and is authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority under the Electronic Money Regulations 2011, FCA reference 900199.

Safeguarding

When funds are posted to your account, e-money is issued in exchange for those funds by Currencycloud. In line with regulatory requirements, Currencycloud safeguards the relevant funds.

Separation of funds

Relevant client funds are separated from Currencycloud's company funds and held in safeguarding accounts with reputable UK and European Union credit institutions.

What safeguarding means

Protection through separation, not FSCS cover.

If Currencycloud became insolvent, funds held in safeguarding accounts would form an asset pool from which e-money holders' claims are paid above those of other creditors. Safeguarding ends when money has been paid out to the beneficiary's account.

Currencycloud is not a bank. Funds held as e-money are safeguarded under the applicable electronic money rules and are not protected by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme.
